Give yourself a few weeks before any submission deadline to finish your draft. You’ll need that buffer to revise.

Don’t chase perfection in the first draft - your job here is to get the story down. The polish comes later.

 

Try to:

• Focus on storytelling momentum rather than perfect dialogue.

• End each writing session with a small cliffhanger for yourself, so you’re excited to return.

• Reward yourself when you reach FADE OUT. You’ve done something most people never do.
